Within a few years or even months, you’ll be able to walk into work, pack up your things, tell your boss you’re done and walk away forever, with confidence and a smile on your face. From that day forward, you’ll be free to work your own hours from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you please. You’ll even be making money while you sleep. All from a thriving business you built on the Internet.
Is it possible? Can you make money online?
Yes, it’s quite possible. Everyone these days is looking for ways to make money online. You may have even tried your hand at a few of the more popular online money making opportunities (Empower Network, Affiliate Marketing, selling stuff on ebay, etc.) Perhaps you were even a little successful. But did it bring you residual income that translates into long-term wealth and freedom?
If you answered “no,” don’t worry. I’m here to throw some encouragement your way.
As I’ve said before, yes, it is possible to make money online. But it’s not a get rich quick scheme as so many people think or hope. Just like any other income opportunity, getting to a place where you can work from home and build a business on the internet full time takes a lot of hard work, dedication and patience. It will not happen overnight.
How do you make money online?
There are many ways to make money online. Here are a few of the most popular:
1. Affiliate Marketing
In this method, you join a company as an affiliate and are paid a commission on all of the products you sell. Most affiliate marketers have a website that they use to promote the affiliate products they’re selling. When people visit your website and buy products using the links you’ve provided, the company pays you a commission. Many popular companies, like Amazon and eBay, have affiliate programs, and most are free to join. If you’re not sure if a company has an affiliate program, google it or contact the company directly to find out.
Many companies use Google Adsense to advertise their products. The ads are placed on publisher websites. With Google Adsense, you sign up to be a publisher, get the code snippets for text or image ads related to your content, and use those snippets to place the ads anywhere on your website. It’s free to use and you’re paid a small commission every time a visitor comes to your site and clicks on an ad displayed there. When I say “small” though, I mean small. Don’t expect to make a ton of money with Google Adsense. You’d have to have multiple sites with ads on them and those sites would need to bring in a ton of traffic before you’d see anything substantial. And even then, I’d recommend tapping into other streams of income to supplement your efforts.
3. Network Marketing Online
This method is actually not as popular, but that’s what makes it one of my favorites. Most Network Marketers choose to sell their products via old-school methods like cold-calling leads and pressuring friends and family. This works for some people, but unless you’re a sales guru, it’s going to be harder for you to build your business. Plus, what happens when you run out of people to recruit in your “warm market?” You have to know how to attract new leads. You can either do it through old-school methods, or you can choose to embrace the new-school method of Internet Marketing. The Internet gives you the potential to attract millions, if not billions of people to your primary business. You can also use it to create multiple streams of income through secondary online businesses.
Bottom line: YES, you can make money online, but it takes a LOT of hard work, dedication and patience. If you’re going to join any online money making opportunity, make sure you do your research, read the fine print, and be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get a little dirty. You’ll have to work at it, no matter what.
